"CncPlayer", what is that actually?
Caution CNC machines are potentially dangerous. Untrained people must not operate the CNC machine. CNC machines are not toys. Keep kids away. Never let the machine run unattended. Always wear safety goggles. Unexpected machine movement can occur at any time. You are responsible for the safety of yourself and others. You are working at your own risk. |
The CncPlayer is a software that plays your cnc files, hence CncPlayer or CP for short and controls your stepper motor driven cnc machine accordingly. Even the CncPlayer is under construction, certain functions like cutter radius compensation, tool path optimization, DXF to HPGL (*.plt) conversion, milling simulation and more are already in an useful shape. |

Install the CncPlayer
- The CncPlayer comes as a single *.ZIP file. Unzip that file to a folder of your choice (e.g. C:\CP). Then start CP.EXE, which is the main program.
- The CncPlayer is a friendly piece of software. It does not write to the Windows registry, it does not substitute any of your system DLLs, it does not copy any files to other directories, it does not contain adware, it does not contain spyware, it does not scan your hd for installed software, it has no phoning home capabilities.
- The CncPlayer makes no entries to your start menu nor does it put an icon to your desktop nor does it unregister any file types already associated with other programs.
- In short: The CncPlayer is a honest piece of software that respects both your computer and your privacy. To get rid of the CncPlayer, i.e. to uninstall it, simply delete the whole directory where you previously have the CncPlayer installed to.

| The screen shot shows a possible window arrangement if you want the Model to simulate a 2.5 D milling. To resize the Position window right mouse click it and select Size. Take the Model simulation for what it is. Ignore it if it doesn't fit your needs. At least during programing it is useful for me. |

CncPlayer Client "CPC" The CncPlayer lets you (optional) connect via serial Com port to a slave DOS pc. The cnc machine is then connected to the DOS pc. |
First work piece The imgage to the right shows one of the very first work pieces, an engraved plate, that was actually engraved by the CncPlayer (CP 0.94.09) around 2002.01.04 :-) |

The CncPlayer offers 4 axis interpolation mode (4D) and plays *.plt, *.cnc, *,dxf, *.ncp ... files. The CncPlayer is under construction and therefore there are currently many software bugs. If you are interested in the CncPlayer anyway you need patience and you have to read the message board since it is an important source of information.
